Janet Beem
Janet Carol Beem, 75, of Zanesville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her home.
Born Oct. 13, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio. Janet was a 1969 graduate of Whetstone High School and was a longtime resident of both Columbus and Zanesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marcella Fairbanks Beem of Columbus; her brother, Jack Beem; her sister, Judy Beem; and grandparents: Reed (Helen) Beem and Harold (Bertha) Fairbanks. She will be missed by her many friends.
Janet worked for 40 years (1983-2023) at Muskingum County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) and independently since then in Zanesville as a direct care provider and residential care giver for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Janet was known for her faith in God, sense of humor, common sense, dedication to the care of individuals with developmental disabilities, and her love for the Muskingum Tigers basketball team, and other Muskingum County Special Olympics teams and athletes.
She was a committed follower of Christ and a member of the Board of Directors of Trulight Ministries of Zanesville. She also loved taking care of God’s creatures, including dogs and parrots.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM, Friday, June 5, 2026, at Trulight Ministries, 807 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, with a meal provided. Everyone is welcome!
