Jeffery Wharton

Jeffery T. Wharton, 79, of Zanesville passed at 6:18 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
He was born on Monday, July 30, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Thomas F. Wharton Sr. and Betty E. Markert Wharton.

Jeffery graduated from Zanesville High School. He was a very proud Veteran of the U.S. Marines. Jeff was a member of the Eagles, VFW Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family.

He is survived by a daughter, Valerie (Jason) Sweet; three grandchildren, Jessica Mahaffey, Kyle Cincinat and Nathan Cincinat; two great grandchildren, Bryer Barr and Aubree Wade; two sisters, Cynthia Hall and Gloria (Earl) Morris; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Jeff’s wishes, a cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
