Jeffrey Bagent

Jeffrey “Jeff” J. Bagent, 72, of Zanesville, died at 2:18 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2025 at Genesis Hospital. He was born July 31, 1953, in Zanesville, a son of Betty (Cowden) Bagent and the late Emmett Bagent. Jeff began working in environmental services at Genesis Hospital when he was just 18 years old and for the past 55 years he was dedicated to his work and everyone who came to know him over the years. He had a love for animals and enjoyed fishing but above all, he found the most joy in spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Barbara (Fennell) Bagent; two stepdaughters, Theresa (Demmy) Barnette and Jeanette (Frank) Elson; three grandchildren, Sabrina (Jeff) Creeks, Tyler (Mercedes)Elson and Zack (Diamond) Elson; fourteen, great grandchildren; four brothers, Keith Bagent, Steve (Lisa) Bagent, Ron Bagent and Brent Bagent; and his sister, Melinda Glosser.
In addition to his father, Jeff is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Bagent; and a grandson, Justin Parker.
Friends and family may call from 12:00 P.M. until time of services starting at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. Jeff will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville.
