Jeffrey W. “Hoodie” Hood

Jeffrey W. “Hoodie” Hood, 62, of Manassas, Virginia, died Friday, October 15, 2021, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born August 1, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Betty Jane Neville Miller and step-son of the late Edgar E. Miller. Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, enjoying cold Busch beer, hunting for arrowheads and mushrooms. He was quite a storyteller and prankster. Jeff was proud of his culinary skills and enjoyed cooking and baking for his co-workers.
Surviving are his children, Jeffery (Susan) Hood, Stephanie (Mitch) Maines, Jeremy (Miranda) Hood and Cheyenne Hood; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel (Jon) Pierce, Martha (Orville) Paxson, Vonda (Gary) Baldwin and Mary Hinkle; four brothers, Ronnie (Donna) Shepherd, Dennis (Sheila) Hood, David (Donna) Hood and Craig Miller; two step-brothers, Tommy Miller and Tim Miller; four step-sisters, Donna (Joe) Barclay, Janice (Harvey) Howard, Ruth Ann (Gene) Robinson and Sara Berry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy G. Alfman and Cynthia L. Hood; a brother, Charles “Chuck” M. Hood. Two brothers-in-law Sam Hinkle and Eldon “Gene” E. Alfman; a sister-in-law, Connie Miller; a step-sister-in-law, Debra Miller and a step-brother-in-law, David Berry.
Calling hours will be 10am to NOON Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Following calling hours a memorial service will be conducted with Pastor Terry Newman officiating.
