ZANESVILLE
Jerry L. Fox, 87, of Zanesville, passed away surrounded by his loving family at Genesis Hospice Morrison House on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born May 30, 1938, in Freeport, Illinois, to the late Donald and Pearl (Moorehead) Fox. He graduated from Elizabeth High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Cold War.
Jerry was an avid gardener, enjoyed antique tractors and most of all his grandchildren. He was a member of the Old Steam and Gas Club, a lifetime member of the NRA and spent his spare time hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and listening to country music.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Norris Fox, whom he married May 27, 1961; and their four children: Michael Fox of Hopewell, Julie (Darren) Copen of Gratiot, Jane (Bill) Hamilton of Dresden and James (Melanie) Fox of Zanesville. He will be missed by his sisters: Joanne Simmons of Niceville, FL and Deborah (Allan) Smith of Shrewsbury, PA; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Fox; a sister Kathie Vondracek; and a grandson Ryan Hamilton.
Private graveside services at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Tara Mitchell officiating.
