Jill Powell

Jill A. (Baker) Powell passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026, following a long illness. Born in Buffalo, New York, Jill was the daughter of the late Eugene and Norma Baker.
Jill had a special love for animals, flowers, and plants of all kinds. She enjoyed browsing magazines and catalogs and had a particular fondness for the beautiful beaches of Delaware. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and were among the many things that made her who she was.
Jill is survived by her three sons, C. Christopher Powell, Adam D. Powell (Tonnya), and Matthew J. Powell; her grandchildren, Jaymee, Lilly, and Charlie; her step-grandchildren, Tristan and Tyler; and her great-grandson, Jace, son of Jaymee. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Baker Whatley; her niece, Summer; her great-nephew, Hunter; and other family members and loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, three sisters, one brother, a niece, and a nephew.
Although her final years were marked by a long and difficult illness, Jill’s life was much more than the challenges she faced. She leaves behind memories, moments, and connections that will remain with those who knew and loved her.
The Powell and Baker families wish to express their sincere gratitude to the many caregivers who provided Jill with care, kindness, and compassion throughout the years.
In accordance with Jill’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation arrangements are being handled by BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
There is something about losing a mother that is permanent and inexpressible — a wound that never quite heals. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
May she finally rest in peace.
