Joan Sheppard

Joan H. (Kostelnik) Sheppard, 89, of Senecaville, passed away Wednesday (January 10, 2024) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

She was born September 29, 1934 in Belle Valley, daughter of the late Mike Kostelnik and Mary (Pelick) Kostelnik.

Joan had worked as a clerk for Zayres for twenty years. She had also worked at Ames and Best Western.

Joan was best known for her love of Hallmark movies and would prefer not to be disturbed during her shows. Affectionately referred to as the “Family Historian”, she had a deep love for family and enjoyed hearing all the details of what everyone was doing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Anne Bolton; a son, Peter Kosmerl; a brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Mary Kostelnik; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kostelnik.

Joan is survived by two daughters, Laura (& Dennis) King of Cambridge and Tina (& Kim) House of Powell; a brother, Jim Kostelnik of Mentor; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joshua, Crystal, Anthony, Natalie, and Keri Ann; five great-grandchildren, Bradley, Bradon, Ellie Anna, Juliette, and Brianne; and many nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (January 16, 2024) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Father Nicholas Ginnetti officiating.

Burial will be at Senecaville Cemetery.
