Joanna “Dolly” R. Swingle

Joanna “Dolly” Ruth Swingle, of Zanesville, passed on March, 26, 2026.

Dolly was born on December 31, 1937, in Zanesville. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. She is the daughter of the late John H. and Alice J. (Bradley) Tidd. She was preceded in death by her last husband, Robert Gale Swingle Sr., as well as her father and mother.

Dolly leaves behind seven children, her two sons Deane Stillion and Shannon Smith; five daughters, Crystal Lowe, Connie Wheeler, Cindy Hall, Marie Newell, and Sharon Stephens; twenty-three grandchildren, one in which she raised, Mercedes Newell, and one who helped take care of her in her final years, Dawson Stephens; many great grandkids that she dearly loved; as well as one special friend, Dora Belew of Canton.

Visitations will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM following visitations. Dolly will be reunited with her parents in Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville.
