75-year-old US Army Veteran, Joe Nyle Dale of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away at the Morrison House on November 17, 2024, at 6:52pm. Joe was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 6, 1949.
Joe had been battling service related issues due to Agent Orange, which was a Chemical used in the Vietnam War that he served in from 1967-1970 with the Army Corps of Engineers with the 86/501st Land Clearing Team. His last battle was with end stage renal disease.He was a 1967 Maysville High School Graduate and has an Associate’s Degree in Waste Water Management from Zane State College.
Over the years he was a truck driver and also a heavy machinery operator. Later in life spent many years as a car salesman.
Joe was an avid dirt track racing fan. He loved following Bart Hartman, Donnie and Devin Moran along with Bobby Pierce. Joe’s Dad owned an old flathead Ford back in the old days, which was mostly driven by “Big Hop” Bob Hopper. Anything motorsports, you would find him tuned in on YouTube. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping at the races. He loved his little Hotdog Brittany and his two kitties, Poppi and Penni.
As a Confirmed Catholic, he was guided by St. Rose’s Father Jim and his oldest step-son JC Schaumleffel.
Joe was also very passionate in helping other Veterans obtain their benefits by offering them his knowledge.
He was preceded in death by Mother Patty Anderson Dale and Father Joseph Dale. Brothers, Ralph Dale and Tommy Dale. Father-in-law, Floyd Wayne Darner.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Judi Dale. Sister Cristy Delaney and her husband, Bob. Mother-in-law Florence Darner. Sons Kevin Dale and Troy Dale (Jodi).
Step Sons J.C. Schaumleffel (Carol) and Joe Schaumleffel (Elena).
Also survived by Grandchildren Courtney Weeks (Alex), Chloe Dale (Ethan Heckel), Kylie Ann Schaumleffel, Ryan Dale, (Bia), Thomas Dale, Brendon Schaumleffel, Dillon Schaumleffel (Bailey), Justin Corder, Bill Gilbert, Scott Gilbert.
Joe wished for cremation and a private burial with Military Honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Per his wishes, he requested no calling hours.
