Joe Diffie to perform at The Smiling Goat Friday night

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Put on your cowboy boots and two-step down to The Smiling Goat tonight.

Country musician Joe Diffie will be performing this evening– his first Zanesville performance in years. Diffie has had five billboard number one singles, including Pickup Man and Third Rock from the Sun.

“We have the iconic Joe Diffie coming tonight. We’re so excited to have him back in Zanesville. He did the ‘Roots & Boots’ concert a couple years ago at Secrest for us. If you’ve ever heard John Deere Green you know exactly who Joe Diffie is. Third Rock from the Sun, good friends with Sammy Kershaw and Aaron Tippin, the 90’s guys. He was just one of those stellar ones that always stood out so we’re so excited that he’s going to be at The Smiling Goat Saloon this time, said Sara Haren, an Entertainment Consultant for Dusty Guitar Promotions.

In addition to tonight’s performance, General Manager Trevor Tigner says The Smiling Goat is looking to lure more national performers to their venue.

“We are trying to bring in national talent that Zanesville has never seen before. We have a really good summer plan, we have ‘Great White’ coming here in June. We also have David Allen Coe coming in June. We are also announcing today that we are, on September 15th, having Craig Morgan, so it’s going to be an excellent show for Zanesville, and we’re really excited about it,” Tigner added.

Tickets are still available for tonight’s show and can be purchased at the door for $39. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. and Joe Diffie will take the stage at approximately 8:30.

VIP doors open at 5:00, and General Admission doors are at 5:30. Tonight’s entertainment will begin with Jake Binegar at 6:00 p.m, and “DoubleCut” will open for Diffie.
