OBIT FOR: JOHN MARK CALLOW SR. , 79
John Mark Callow Sr., 79 of Zanesville died at 4:01 PM Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Genesis Health Care E.R. following a sudden heart attack. He graciously gave the gift of life by being a tissue donor.
He was born November 16, 1944 in Spencer, WV the son of Mark Shirley Callow and Pearl Hildreth Callow.
John worked in the HVAC field with Tom Cannon Company and retired as co-owner of Professional Refrigeration. John was an avid golfer, enjoyed vegetable gardening and his yearly fishing trips to Canada and was member of the Zanesville Yacht Club.
He is survived by his love of 24 years, Joanna Arnold; 3 children, Deb (Dan) Leffingwell, John M. (Vickie Anderson) Callow Jr. and Bev (Ryan) Mester; Grandchildren, Dylan Leffingwell, Darci (Michele) Leffingwell, Isabella Mester and Chase Mester; a great granddaughter, Norah Clark Leffingwell; two brothers, Stewart (Ruby) Callow and George (Carolyn) Callow; a brother-in-law, Herb Parsons; the mother of his children, Sharon Callow; his pet dog, Riley, multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors & numerous friends. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by an infant sister, Linda Callow and a sister, Catherine Parsons.
Visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, followed by closing prayers & family comments at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Immediately following the prayers, the family will gather at one of Johns favorite stops, The Barn on Linden Ave., and everyone is welcome.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Shelter Society or Christ’s Table.
