John “Curly” Urdak

John “Curly” L. Urdak, 75, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday (October 5, 2024) at his home.
He was born June 11, 1949 at the family home in Noble County, son of the late Robert Urdak and Marjorie (Fraunfelter) Urdak.
A 1967 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, John was a farmer and the former owner of the Golden Plaza in Belle Valley.
He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and leather crafting.
John was a US Marine Corps veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Urdak.
John is survived by his wife, Sue (Moorhead) Urdak, whom he married May 12, 1969; a son, Eddie (& Karen) Urdak of Johnstown; three brothers, Billy (& Angie) Urdak of Senecaville, Gary (& Tammy Burk) Urdak of Perry’s Den, and Brian Urdak of Byesville; three sisters, Janet (& Jan) Schultice of Senecaville, Shirley Shepherd of Pleasant City, and Barbara (& Gary) Cox of Pleasant City; two grandchildren, Jessica Hudson and Emma Urdak both of Columbus; and several nieces & nephews.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Friday (October 11, 2024) from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
Graveside services and burial will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday (October 11, 2024) at Cumberland Cemetery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
