John Diveley
John H Diveley Jr., 67 of Zanesville, died 3:20 AM, Monday, October 20, 2025, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice, surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness. He was born Saturday, December 21, 1957, in El Paso, TX, the son of John Diveley, Sr. and Mary Catherine (Sutterfield) Diveley. He married Roxanne (McArtor) Diveley on Saturday, January 17, 2004.
John was an LPN for many years, and greatly enjoyed the time he spent caring for his patients. In 2004, he received the Nurse of The Year Award. John enjoyed photography, and the highlight of his life was babysitting, spending time with, and caring for his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Roxanne, John is survived by two step-sons, O.J. (Angie) Powell, and Joe (Afton) Powell; one step-daughter, Nicole Powell; six step-grandchildren, Zachary Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Korbyn Powell, Harper Powell, Madaline Powell, and Payton Powell; his mother & father-in-law, John Eldon & Barbara Ann McArtor; one brother-in-law, Bryan McArtor; one sister, Karen Lee; his step-mother, Cheryl Cain, and a nephew, Jeremy Baxter.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John Diveley, Sr. and Mary Catherine Diveley; one sister-in-law, Sherry Myers; one brother-in-law, Bruce Lee; his grandmother-in-law, Evelyn Wiseman, his close friends, Dr. Tom Dobbins, Paul Ogg and David Schulties.
