The John Mcintire Library System is hosting it’s annual “book bags to go” winter edition.

Wednesday marks the beginning of the program which is geared toward adults. Winter is viewed as the prefect time for adults to read because people are spending more time indoors.

“We developed book bags to go so adults have a similar program during the winter. Adults are welcome to browse the bags, make their selection, check out the three books in the bag, read and return the books and keep the bag,” said Assistant Director Blair Tom.

Tom said programs like these are important for the community because adults can lead by example.

“It is important for young people to see role models, adults, parents reading and valuing reading. This certainly is another way of making that happen, ” said Tom.

Tom said this is a nice way to expose readers to different authors. All 750 “book bags to go” will be available while supply lasts.
