John Alan Murphy, 44, of Zanesville, Ohio, joined his parents and brother in eternal rest on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his home with loved ones by his side. John was born June 2, 1980, in Zanesville, son of the late William “Bubbles” and Mary (Kelly) Murphy, Jr. In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his brother, Victor.

John leaves to remember him with love, his loving wife, Courtney Murphy; beloved children, Keyona Murphy, Treyshawn Bintz, Jocelyn Ford and Mahki Insley; siblings, Mike Murphy, Myron (Mary) Murphy, Tyrone Murphy, Terry Murphy and Shiloh (Dominque) Harris; numerous nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Teresa Ford; father-in-law, Terry Ford; brother-in-law, Jeremy Knapp; best friends, Andy Paxton, Chad Rider and Jermaine Thorpe; and a host of many friends and loved ones.

John was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. John enjoyed bowling, but most of all, he loved to play softball. He dedicated his athleticism to the Lionel Construction Softball Team for many years.

John was a hardworking man. He enjoyed attending church services with the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ in Zanesville. John was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend to many. He is sure to be deeply missed.

You may call on the family on, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. with funeral services starting at 12 p.m. at the Greater Apostolic Church, 1651 State St. Zanesville Ohio 43701. Burial will follow funeral services in Woodlawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
