John Toth

John Eric Toth, 59, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of New Lexington, Ohio died at 8:15am on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the Genesis Hospice, The Morrison House of Zanesville, Ohio.

Born March 3rd, 1966 in Columbus, Ohio to John A. Toth of Zanesville and the late Nancy Dickerson Toth.

Eric was a Courier for the State of Ohio. He enjoyed riding around town, hanging out at the Dinner Bell in his high school years and playing golf with his friends at the Perry County Country Club. Eric lived a simple and private lifestyle. Eric was also very kind and soft spoken. Eric loved hearing stories about his niece and nephews, often followed up with a smile and a chuckle.

Survived by his father, John A. Toth; sister, Jamie (Tom) Carney; brother, Rory (Debbie) Toth; nephews, Trace Carney, Ryan Toth, and Aydan Toth; and niece Kaylie Toth.

In addition to his mother, Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Irene Toth; and Connie and Esther Dickerson.

A celebration of Life will be held from 3:00pm-6:00pm on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 in the basement of the Elks Lodge, 109 S Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

The family would appreciate any family, friends, and coworkers to attend and share a story about Eric.
