Jon Charles Labaki, 81 of Zanesville died Wednesday morning, December 10, 2025 at his home following a short illness.
He was born December 5, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Charles “Charlie” Labaki and Anna Morosco Labaki.
Jon was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and graduated from Zanesville High School where he was very athletic in Basketball and Football. After High School he worked with his father in the family business, Labaki’s Market on Maple Ave. Jon later opened his own small retail store beside his brother Joe on Putnam Ave. He later was employed with Lumi Light Candle Company and also became a Real Estate Agent with Century 21. Jon also owned & operated the Putnam Arcade and after this started the East Pike Appliances. He later purchased the Airwood Motel on East Pike which he ran for many years. Jon liked working outside in his yard and tinkering with appliance & computer repairs. He also enjoyed playing cards (or as his grandchildren would say “cheating at cards”), and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, Colton & Kylie.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Dady Labaki, whom he married October 29, 1971, a daughter, Nikia “Niki” Cane Labaki; a step-daughter, Dena Findeiss (Jeff) Hardwick; grandchildren, Colten (Josie) Michel and Kylie Michel; siblings, Shirley Labaki, Joseph “Joe” Labaki, Nancy Labaki, and Virginia “Ginger” (Gregg) Patterson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by a brother, James “Jim” Labaki and an infant brother, Michael Labaki.
A private graveside service will take place at a later date at the St. Paul Cemetery.
