Joe Gillogly, 99, of White Cottage, died Monday afternoon July 14, 2025 at home with his family by his side. He was born on September 23, 1925, in Zanesville, Ohio. He retired from Burnham Foundry after 45 years of service. He also ran his own business, Gillogly and Sons Furs and Roots. He was the oldest ginseng dealer in the United States. He served in the United States Navy for three years during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Gillogly, his parents Dewey and Myrtle Gillogly, two sisters Nellie Ashman and Mildred Goodall, two brothers Granville Gillogly and George Gillogly.

He is survived by his son Joe Gillogly of Roseville. His daughter Tammy (Larry Pletcher) Hern of Zanesville. Five grandchildren Colleen (Bob Schwertner) Gillogly, Denise Gillogly, Chad (Mikilia Ankrum) Hall, Brian Hall, and Brandi Hern. Seven great-grandchildren Tyler (Ashlee) Marinello, Matthew (Brittany) Marinello, Cody Marinello, Daeman Martinez, Caden Hall, Aubree Hall and Ryleigh Hall. Two great-greatgrandchildren Addison Marinello and Isabella Marinello. A private family service has taken place at Rose Hill Cemetery with Mark Ballmer officiating. William Thompson & Son Funeral Home in White Cottage assisted the family.
