Joseph Paul (September 6, 1926 – March 17, 2015)
Joseph Paul of Zanesville, Ohio peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015. He was born one of 8 children to the late Lawrence and Caroline (Barr) Paul.
Joe was an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and served as an usher for many years. He was known as Mr. Fix It in the Times Recorder, was a master electrician and IBEW member for 65+ years, a master carpenter, and able to improve on any task at hand. He attained the rank of 4th degree as a member of the Knights of Columbus and a WWII Navy Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, playing cards, and ham radio operation. He loved music (swing and Hawaiian) and to go dancing with his wife. He was a loving father, husband and friend who would graciously and generously help anyone in need. This brief description does not come close to describing the incredible life and talent of an awesome man.
He is survived by his son, Jeff (April), daughter, Jennifer (Kirby) Bushong, grandchildren, Sarah and Carlee Paul, Cameron Bushong, sisters Rita (James) Christ, Ruth ( James) Martin, and Sister Angela Paul, and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, JoAnn (Andrews) Paul, three brothers & a sister.
Joseph will be deeply missed by family and friends. There will be no calling hours. To celebrate his life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church, 1925 Main Street, Zanesville, Ohio with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Immediately following the mass there will be an informal procession to Mount Olive Cemetery for a burial service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice or a mass said on his behalf.
