Joseph Poppinger

Joseph A. Poppinger, 71, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Joe was born on November 30, 1952. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Pitts; daughter, Megan Poppinger; siblings, Percilla, Nancy Shumate, Earl Pitts, Mike Pitts and Pat Poppinger.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Cornelia Poppinger; daughter, Gloria Amspaugh; stepson, Mike; grandchildren, Dominic Conkle and Benjamin Amspaugh; siblings, Harry Pitts, Dennis Pitts and Wesley Pitterman; many nieces and nephews; as well as several other friends and family.

Joe loved to work on automobiles. He spent several years working on cars for a variety of places such as Blacks, the junkyard and even at his personal garage. Joe also worked at Economy Linen and the Sawmill. Joe loved to spend time with his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

You may call on the family for one hour on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 11am until 12pm at Burrell Funeral Services. Cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
