Josephine A. Cooper, 89 of Zanesville, died, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice. She was born Wednesday, April 24, 1929, in Zanesville, the daughter of Otto Hupp and Florence (Corbett) Hupp. She married Bartley “Bart” D. Cooper on Saturday, October 14, 1950, and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

 

Josephine was employed with Stanley Home Products and retired from Sears and Roebuck following many years of service. She loved to sew and enjoyed square dancing and the jitterbug. Josephine was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly.  Her motto was “keep a smile on your face and love everyone.”

 

In addition to her husband of over 68 years: Bart, Josephine is survived by six children: Catherine Addis, Jeff (Joy) Cooper, Mary Sue Fenton, Barbie Cooper, Carol Huffine and Thomas (Jodi) Cooper; seventeen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

 

In addition to father Otto Hupp, Josephine was preceded in death by her mother & step-father: Florence & Joseph Levandusky; one son: Bartley Cooper; one son-in-law: Steve Fenton; two brothers: Robert Hupp and Richard Hupp; one half-brother: Joseph Levandusky.

 

Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North Fifth Street, Zanesville with Fr. Thomas Kumau as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Genesis Morrison House Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701 in Josephine’s memory.
