Judith “Judy” C. Hale
Judith Carol (Spencer) Hale, 84 of Zanesville, passed peacefully in her home at 6:00 PM on December 6, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born September 2, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio. She lived her entire life in her hometown, always looking for opportunities to contribute to her community.
She was an alumni of Zanesville High School, Ohio University, and Ohio Northern University. She retired from Zanesville City Schools with twenty-five years of service as a Psychological Assistant, touching the lives of hundreds of children through the years. She was a baptized member of the Church of Christ, currently belonging to the New Concord Church of Christ. She was always very involved in many church activities including teaching Bible class for forty years plus.
Judy raised a wonderful family with her husband, Joseph R. Hale, whom she married sixty-four years ago. They have two daughters, Wendy (Paul) Lowe of Zanesville, and Stacey (Brad) Moore of Duncan Falls, and one son Scott (Ana) Hale of Belleair Bluffs, Florida. One of Judy’s greatest joys were her five grandchildren, Benjamin (Jessica) Lowe, Rachel (Tory) Hardesty, Gracie (Robbie) Hisey, Zachary Moore, and Avery Moore. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Griffin Lowe, Carter and Bridger Hardesty, Sophie and Clark Hisey. She always loved playing in the yard with them, even as recently as this year.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles Oscar Spencer and Orpha Lucille Spencer and her three siblings, Charles (Spence) Spencer, Jerry Jones, and Wanda Grant.
Calling hours will be held from 3 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. Services will be held at 11 AM the following day at the New Concord Church of Christ, 13333 Maple Lane, New Concord, Ohio, 43762, with an hour of calling hours before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Evangelist Terry Townsend will officiate the service. Judy will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
