Julie Goodall named ArtCOZ Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Julie Goodall has been named the ArtCOZ Artist of the Month for March.

Goodall is also celebrating a milestone this month as her studio, Julie’s ARTery, is marking 26 years of operation, with 6 of those years at 53 S. 7th Street.

Goodall says it’s been wonderful to be named the Artist of the Month but she’s sharing some of her spotlight with some of the Instructors at her Studio.

“It’s a great honor and I’m just very thankful that I get to do this and we get to share our love of what we do with the community.” Goodall said. “We have about 6 artists that teach here and they also do their own artwork and we’re going to be showcasing all of their pieces as well.”

Goodall offers a number of classes from ceramics, stained glass, crocheting and knitting, as well as oil and acrylic painting workshops for artists of all ages.

She says she loves teaching the students that come through her doors so much that she doesn’t think of it as a job

Goodall also some time to look back on the 6 years of growth down at the ARTery.

“It’s kind of cool, you know, we’re not really city people and to be Downtown has been a completely fun and new experience for us.” Goodall said. “But it’s just great to be in the heart of everything and to be able to share that with other artists downtown.”

Julie’s ARTery is located at 53 S. 7th St. and will be open from 5 to 8PM for the First Friday Artwalk.
