Julie Shaffer Named ArtCOZ Artist of the Month
ZANESVILLE, OH – Julie Shaffer has been named the ArtCOZ Artist of the Month for September.
Shaffer began creating pieces of jewelry from vintage spoons when she couldn’t find something she liked from a regular store.
She says she purchased her first spoon ring at a market and the rest was history.
“I was looking for a ring, a specific ring, and I didn’t know what I wanted but knew when I would see it.” Shaffer said. “That would be the one and I couldn’t find anything in jewelry stores, so it took me to an antique flea market and there I found a spoon ring.”
Shaffer will be set up at Julie’s ARTery for the First Friday Artwalk and it’s going to be a full house.
There will be a student show, wheel throwing demonstrations, stain glass demonstrations as well as sign ups for fall classes.
If you are interested in checking out more works from Shaffer you can head to her Facebook Page, Tarnished and Twisted.
Julie’s ARTery is located at 53 South 7th Street in Downtown Zanesville.
