JUNCTION CITY, Ohio – If you were passing by Junction City in Perry County, you might have seen lots of color.

The first annual Junction City PTO color run/walk was available for
individuals to participate and enjoy. The run included a 5k for people
13 years and older, or a 5k for anyone 12 years and under. The race is
untimed, but must have been completed by 5 p.m. There was also an
inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and more concessions for the
racers. Racers received a t-shirt to wear which was taken over with lots
of color.

“One of the other people on the PTO, Heidi Fink, had the idea of
doing a color run. And that was probably about a year and a half ago, so
we’ve been kinda thinking and brain storming, and here it is,” said PTO
President, Melissa Pearson.

People had to register by April 1st to participate in the run. Pearson also said she wanted to switch up selling products to creating events for everyone to enjoy.

“Come out as a community, hang out, get to know each other for the
same price but have a ton of fun and make memories. We’re a small
community, and most of us here know each other. And so it’s just a lot
of fun to get together,” she said.

The event also gave people the opportunity to sign up for the Perry
County Soccer League or participate in the Fourth of July Committee’s
raffle.
