Junior Pioneers honored at Ohio Statehouse

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Zanesville Junior Pioneers made their mark in early August by winning the AAABA championship for the first time in franchise history. Dave Balo’s club continued to soak up the spoils of their victory Wednesday at the Ohio Statehouse.

State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) presented the Juniors with a resolution honoring their big win. A true underdog story, the Pioneers won the AAABA tournament despite earning just one victory in pool play. The Juniors upset New Orleans and Chicago Metro to advance to the championship game, where they took down the host city of Johnstown, 8-2.
