Justin and Maryan Dantonio Memorial Scholarship

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Justin and Maryan Dantonio Memorial Scholarship is now available for Zanesville High School students.
It is a brand new scholarship that will annually award $1,000 to one female and one male senior. Justin and Maryan Dantonio Memorial Scholarship Council Member Ron Apperson said the scholarship is available to those who are continuing their education at an accredited school.
“Justin passed away three years ago. He was an academic in education and he was a coach and he was a principal in the Zanesville area,” Apperson said. “Maryan was a home mother, until all of the boy’s left. She was a secretary for the City. She passed away in December.”
The process includes the application, students get this from their school counselors and then the six men who are the scholarship council will pick their top choice. From there Justin and Maryan’s sons will choose the female and male to be awarded the scholarship.
“This scholarship fund they want to give back from Maryan and Justin to the students now at Zanesville High School,” Apperson said.
Students with an accumulated minimum 3.00 grade point average can apply. The application must be completed and returned to the Zanesville High School Guidance Office by 3:00 PM on March 22.
