Kandy Lynne Dunfee, 68, of Cambridge passed away peacefully Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 4, 1957, at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, Ohio, to the late Charles and Phyllis Dunfee. Kandy was a 1975 graduate of Jewett-Scio High School. She was a devoted homemaker who took pride in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for her children, grandchildren, and those she loved. Throughout her years working in the healthcare field, she brought the same compassion and gentleness to others. She spent her time tending to her garden, caring for her animals who she loved deeply, and quilting and crafting handmade pieces she shared with those close to her. Most of all, she had a quiet, enduring love for her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart.
She leaves behind her lifelong, loving partner Scott Randall Toohey of Cambridge, a son, Bryan Brown of Cambridge; two daughters, Jennifer (Jacob) Schleining of Cambridge, and Sarah Brown of Clermont, FL; four granddaughters, Hillary Watkins , Allison Phillips (Jordan Sivard), Avery Schleining, Melanie Freeman all of Cambridge; one great-grandson, Grady Collins of Zanesville; two sisters Kathy Meeks of Albany and Linda Barnhart of Santa Rosa, California; two brothers Charles Dunfee of Newark and Todd (Robyn) Dunfee of Pensacola, FL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Mark Dunfee of Dover, Douglas Dunfee (passed in infancy), Tommy Dunfee of California; and an aunt, Dorothy Sinfield, whose memories remained a source of comfort and love throughout her life
Arrangements were made at Bonnell Funeral Home. Services will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions in Kandy’s name be made to Shriver’s Hospice, PO Box 8, Zanesville, OH 43702.
