Karen Murphy
Karen M. Murphy, from New Lexington, Ohio, has stepped into the next chapter, with a brave heart. Surrounded by love and devotion of her family, as she is at her final rest.
In her final days, she approached her transition with the same strength, courage and warmth that defined her entire life.
She poured her whole heart into being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was the steady heartbeat of her family, and loved her family fiercely.
She cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren. They brought her deep joy and happiness.
Karen enjoyed the more simple things in life. She enjoyed playing Pictionary, putting puzzles together, playing words with friends, and doing crafts. She also enjoyed long car rides, porch sits, and bonfires. Most importantly, she dearly loved spending time with her family. Karen had a passion for cooking. She worked for many years as a waitress/cook and enjoyed cooking great dishes for loved ones.
Karen had many talents. In addition to her cooking, she was also talented in drawing, painting, and she also had a natural born, self-taught ability in haircutting and styling.
Karen leaves a lasting void in our hearts, her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on, in us, forever.
Left to mourn her passing, are her husband of 43 years, Cliff Murphy, her children, Ryan (Courtney Murphy), Tyler Murphy, Brittany (Joey) Dolen. Siblings, Cheryl (George) Adams, Lisa Schoonover, Brenda (Doug) Russell, Joesph Anderson, Maria Anderson, and Judy (Scott) Strawn. 13, grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law and devoted best friend, Bonnie Eppley. Karen and Bonnie shared a rare and special bond. Bonnie stood faithfully by Karen’s side throughout the years. Bonnie was an important part of Karen’s life. Karen treasured the times they spent together.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, William C. (Bill) Anderson, and Norma J. Brunton. Her sister, Angela C. Eversole, and granddaughter, Jaylee Murphy.
To honor and remember Karen’s life, family and friends are welcome to visit from 4pm-8pm on Monday, August 31, 2026 and from 12noon to 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, in New Lexington, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the funeral home with Cheryl Adams as celebrant. Karen will then be laid to rest at New Lexington Cemetery. A private luncheon will follow the service for immediate family, which includes nieces and nephews.
