Karl Wiltsie Pic

Karl Franklin Wiltsie, 90, of Mt. Perry, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at Adams Lane Care Center.
He was born on November 20, 1935, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Karl Wiltsie and Dorathea (McGee) Wiltsie. Karl graduated from Somerset High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for several years at A&P (Atlantic and Pacific) as a Dairy Manager and later at Kmart. Karl resided on the family farm at Mt. Perry, Ohio. He enjoyed the simple things in life, a no thrills kind of guy. He could frequently be found sitting on the back patio with his cat, enjoying nature, “watching the grass grow”.
Karl was well known for his love of country music, especially Hank Williams Sr. He was skilled at playing the steel guitar and was in many country music bands over the years. In his golden years, he enjoyed playing at the Freedom Worship Church Services and attending the Mt. Perry Presbyterian Church. Karl loved attending his great grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Karl will be remembered for his “dried and warped sense of humor” as he always said.
Karl is survived by his daughter, Karla-Kay (Mike) Wilson; sister, Dorathea Fortener; grandchildren, Brett (Traci) Wilson and Brittney (Tyler) Wilson; 6 bonus grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren: Evan, Weston, Dalton, and Delaney; daughter-in-law, Jackie; sister-in-law, Desiree Wiltsie; ex-daughter in law, Lisa; several other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Stella (Kinney) Wiltsie, whom he married on November 10, 1957; 2 sons: Eric Wiltsie and Kevin Wiltsie; brothers, Charles Wiltsie and Obert Wiltsie; brother-in-law, William Fortener.
Calling hours will be held on Friday July 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. Darren Tolbert officiating. Burial will conclude services at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
