Kathrine “Kathy” Vickers

Kathrine (Kathy) Vickers, 55, a beloved wife, mom, “Mimi,” daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Grant Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born December 26, 1968, in Newark, Ohio, she is a daughter of Patricia (Smith) Fitzpatrick and the late Jesse Wolford. She was known for her bright smile and contagious laugh, Kathrine brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. Kathrine’s heart was as big as her love for people and animals. Her passion for horses was evident, and she spent countless hours enjoying their companionship and care. Whether riding or simply being in their presence, horses were a true source of joy and peace for her.
A natural leader, Kathrine showed her dedication through running 4-H groups and serving as the president of the union at AMG. Her commitment to her community was clear in everything she did.
A River View High School graduate, Kathrine carried her love for people into her work, spending many meaningful years with Longaberger Baskets. There, she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives with her kindness and hard work.
Baptized at Perry Chapel, Kathrine’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her to be compassionate and generous. She never met a stranger and was always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.
Kathrine’s love for life shone through in her daily habits, a smile, and a sparkle in her eye, always ready to brighten someone’s day. Her devotion for the Dallas Cowboys was legendary, and she cheered for her favorite team with endless enthusiasm, often correcting her husband on which team to cheer for.
Above all, Kathrine’s sons and granddaughter were her world. Tyler, Trenton, Triton, and August were the light of her life, and she always did and will continue to love and support them in all their endeavors. Her unwavering dedication to her family was the foundation of her life, and her pride in her sons knew no bounds.
Kathrine is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Richard Vickers, whom she married April 29, 1989; her three sons, Tyler (Courtney), Trenton, and Triton Vickers; her cherished granddaughter, August Vickers; and her loving mother, Patricia (Shane) Fitzpatrick. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Kimberly (Jason) Graham and Jessica (Dennis) Claggett; her brothers, David and Charlie Richards; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Wolford, and her brother, Raymond Richards.
Kathrine’s life was a testament to the power of a kind heart and a generous spirit. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew her and were touched by her radiant joy and unwavering kindness.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00-8:00pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, June 28, 2024, with Pastor Carl Schaeffer officiating.
Kathrine will be laid to rest next to her father at Bladensburg Cemetery. Bladensburg, Ohio.
