Kelly Ashby Looks Forward To 2021

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-2020 was a historically bad year for travel nationwide.
Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby is one of the people in charge of bringing tourism to Muskingum County. She said that 2020 was quite the adjustment for the Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“2020 was definitely a year of challenges and learning how to do things differently and on the fly. We were thrilled, however, that many of our attractions were able to remain open and do things that allowed us to have visitors with perfect safety precautions and have guests from all over.”, Ashby told WHIZ.
For all the setbacks seen last year 2021 should be a much better year for tourism.
“Typically the winter months are definitely slow for Muskingum County when it comes to travel and tourism. They always have been, a lot of places do the same things. You’re kinda gearing up for the new year, figuring out what you wanna do when the weather turns really good and the spring hits.”, Ashby said of the future.
Many events Ashby would be participating in have been put on hold until the springtime.
