Kenneth Chandler

Kenneth Charles Chandler Jr., 77, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on June 17, 2026. Kenneth was born on November 3, 1948, and lived a life filled with adventure, friendship, and a deep love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Helen and Will Harrington; his father, Kenneth “Cut” Chandler Sr.; sisters, Shirley Latham, Theresa “Peedie” Chandler, Latalia “Duke” Standifer, and Patricia “Patty” Duncan; and his brother, Barry Chandler.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Gregg (Melissa) Chandler, Tara Chandler and her companion Randy Johnson, and their mother, Sandra Chandler; Blayne (Robbie) VanAllen and Levi King, and their mother, Cindy Hairston; grandchildren, Malachi “Chandler” Carter, Terrence Clark II, Fallon VanAllen, Fynlee VanAllen, Fenix VanAllen and Terrance “Lil T” Clark Jr.; his sister, Edna (John) Mitchell; special nieces and nephews, Carlitha Canady, Jennifer Helmreich, Natasha McCollum, William “Juney” Duncan, Nate Chandler, Mike Watson and Robert Chandler. He is also survived by special friends and neighbors, “Fast Pete” Hughes, Mike Beauford, Clark Felix, Dickie Watiker, Troy Walker, and “Lucky,” as well as numerous other friends and family members.
Kenneth proudly served his country as a Vietnam Army combat veteran. A fighter throughout his life, he was a two-time kidney transplant survivor through The Ohio State University and faced life’s challenges with determination and resilience.
A retired barber, Kenneth was well known throughout the Zanesville community as the owner and operator of his own barbershop on Putnam Avenue. Through the years, he built lasting friendships with his customers and took great pride in his work and the relationships he formed.
Kenneth enjoyed the freedom of the open road, spending countless hours riding his Harley-Davidson, RV camping, and enjoying a good cigar. He loved watching ESPN, collecting firearms, and staying connected with his grandchildren through FaceTime. During his years living in Florida, he became fluent in Spanish, a skill he proudly carried with him throughout his life.
A familiar face throughout the community, Kenneth was a longtime guest of the Zanesville Esquire Club and a lifetime member of the Zanesville Rare Blood MCC, where he became a member in the 1970s and later served as Chairman of the Board. He also spent many years enjoying the fellowship and camaraderie of the Zanesville Only Ones MCC.
Kenneth will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his loyalty to his friends, his love of motorcycles and adventure, and most importantly, the love he had for his family. His stories, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 6pm until 7pm at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Memorial Service will take place the following day, June 26, 2026, at 1pm at Burrell Funeral Services.
