"We’re down here teaching the kids how to just have fun when they’re working out, we all know that in the community child obesity is a rising problem.," said Michele Shirer of Unison Health Plan.
Shirer says there are a numer of ways to be health and to have have fun, including different fitnesses games to play on the WII system. She also suggests an easy to make recipe.
"As a parent I know how expensive it is to eat healthy, but we have a station that is a simple snack mix recipe, it’s cereal, raisins, marshmallows and dried fruit, its inexpensive, and it’s quick and easy to make," she said.
The activity center received a few new additions to it’s game room which now houses multiple pool tables, air hockey tables, video games, and two computers.
