Kidzville to Celebrate Grand Opening

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – After weeks of hard work, the City of Zanesville is ready to finally unveil a project that has been anticipated by many.
Tomorrow at 10:00 am, Kidzville will be celebrating its grand opening thanks to the efforts of volunteers who dedicated their time to see this project come full circle.
“It was very overwhelming to see over 160 people here every day during each shift,” said Doug Hobson, Assistant Fire Chief & Kidzville Project Leader. “Churches, businesses, commissioners, city council and even the mayor were out here doing their part and this whole entire project could not have been completed without them and the community’s involvement.”
While there were some bumps in the road throughout the building process, the finished project not only provides a safe place for children to play, it also serves as a timeless memory of the friendships that were fostered between many of the volunteers.
“As you looked around here on Sunday, it was unbelievable the things that were going on in this playground between the mentoring and the friendships that were being made,” said Hobson. “When people left here, they didn’t just shake hands and go on their way, they exchanged hugs and it was just so heartwarming to witness everything that took place.”
Hobson encourages everyone to come out to Kidzville on Friday to enjoy the great weather and new facilities.
