Kierstyn Wayne Awarded the 2023 Dreier Foundation Scholarship

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Fred F. and Herman M. Dreier Foundation has announced the recipient of its 2023 scholarship.
Kierstin Wayne, a 2023 graduate from Maysville High School, is currently attending the University of Findlay where she is studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Her selection for this significant $40,000 scholarship highlights her academic achievements and potential in her chosen field.
“I was really thankful because college is expensive, and I come from a one parent household. My dad’s not in the picture. I’m having one parent help fund me and my education and I have big aspirations. I’ve known I’ve always wanted to be a vet and it’s not cheap. Eight years of school. So, getting it was like a big help for my mom and I and to help have less debt in the end. ” Scholarship Recipient, Kierstin Wayne said.
The scholarship was established by Fred Dreier as a tribute to his brother Herman. They were both lifelong residents in Zanesville. Fred Drier’s vision in creating the foundation was to be a positive force in the community, especially in supporting the educational aspirations of students.
“I always like to promote that this is really a family donating to another family. He wasn’t looking for a tax write off. He was concerned about students in Muskingum County.” Kurt Dreier, Foundations Family Representative said.
Wayne has been named the 19th recipient of the prestigious Fred F. and Herman M. Dreier Foundation Scholarship.
