Kroger Day Supported Christ’s Table

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – August 16, 2017 the Muskingum County Fair had Kroger Day.
Anyone who donated at least two Kroger Brand cans would get free admissions into the fair, while all the canned food would go to Christ’s Table. Christ’s Table Executive Director Keely Warden said this has been a great partnership for the last six years.
“We collected 3427 that are back in the back,” Warden said. “They’ve been neatly stacked, they are ready to go, and this will last us almost until fall. So we’re really excited about this. Summer is a busy time of year, so the stocking of the shelves need to be done at this time of the year to get us ready for the fall.”
Warden said the program serves a dual purpose of getting families who may not have the funding to pay for fair tickets, get free admissions. As well as helping Christ’s table at a very critical time of the year stock up their shelves. This year Christ’s Table also received donations from else where.

“We also want to send a big thank you out to everybody else that thinks about us after the fair,” Warden said. “The Zanesville Booster Club called yesterday, we went and picked up chicken, applesauce, and buns. Rolling Plains United Methodist Church donated corn today, which we’re cooking. Meadow Farm United Methodist Church pulled up back with a whole truck load of donations.”
Warden said the community is so good to Christ’s Table and Warden wants to thank everyone who has donated and thought about serving in their mission.
