L. Merle Hoffman (January 1, 1900 – March 20, 2012)

C. Merle Hoffman, 75 of Mound Road, Duncan Falls, passed away at 6:10 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Forest View Care Center in Zanesville.

Merle was born October 22, 1936 in New Cumberland, WV the son of the late Clarence Virgil and Margaret Ann (Baker) Hoffman.

He retired from Clevite in Bridgeport, OH where he worked as the factory superintendent and TRW in Danville,PA where he worked as a supervisor. He is a member of the Chandlersville Church of Christ, a member Philo / Duncan Falls Lions Club, Anchor Lodge #283 F&AM and a 32’ mason with the Scottish Rite in Cambridge, American Legion Post #246 and he served his country in the US Army.

Merle is survived by his wife Marjorie (Booher) Hoffman whom he married Dec 18, 1955; a son Tim (Krysta) Hoffman and a daughter Kelly (Jeff) Jeffries both of Duncan Falls; his brother Virgil Lee Hoffman of St. Clairsville; his two grandchildren Chantal and Jeff Jr.

In addition to his parents, Merle is preceded in death by his brothers Kermit and Chuck Hoffman and a sister Karen Morgan.

Lions Club will hold services at 8 pm Friday.

Visitations will be 6 to 8 pm Friday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Saturday. He will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1058.
