Lancaster Police Cruiser Hit in Crash

The Lancaster Police Department says it’s investigating an accident involving one of its police cruisers.

It happened around two a.m. on North Memorial Drive, near Union Street.

Sergeant Matt Chambers says another vehicle went left of center and struck the police cruiser head-on.

He says he’s not sure if both drivers were taken to the hospital, but he did say the officer did sustain minor injuries.

The police cruiser did receive moderate to severe damage to the front end of the vehicle.

Chambers says alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
