Larry D. Bishard, 81, of Lore City, passed away Thursday (February 13, 2025) at OhioHealth Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

He was born January 5, 1944 in Cambridge, son of the late Homer Bishard and Helen (Hicks) Bishard.

A graduate of Cambridge High School, Larry had worked for thirty years at G.T.E. as a telephone cable splicer and retired in 1997.

He was a US Army veteran, having served from May 1963 to May 1966 and earned the rank of Specialist E-5.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his family on Seneca Lake – fishing, boating, and simply being on the water. After his retirement, he spent time on the lake daily.

He enjoyed watching bluebirds and nature.

Larry was humble and worked hard to provide for his family. He loved his grandchildren dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Todd and Ruth Sharrock.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Haschak) Bishard of Lore City, whom he married July 9, 1966; a son, Stephen Bishard of Elyria; two daughters, Susan (Harry) Nichols of Cambridge and Amanda (Kris) Franko of Wheeling WV; a grandson, Cole Franko of Wheeling WV; and a granddaughter, Alexandra Franko of Wheeling WV.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (February 18, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Carol Touvell officiating.

Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with military graveside honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Larry’s name be made to one of the following organizations: 1) Lore City United Methodist Church, 188 Main Street, Lore City OH 43755; or 2) The Salvation Army, 221 Dewey Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
