Last Chance To Tour Local School Before It Closes It's Doors

One local school is allowing the community to view the facility before it closes its doors for good.

Falls Elementary, previously West Muskingum High School, will close to the public on Sunday June 12th to begin the process of the construction for a new site. This Saturday they’re welcoming alumni and local community members to tour the school one last time.

"I think anytime that you have to say goodbye to fairwell to something it’s to allow people to have that time to say fairwell, to remember, to have that last experience with something that they cherish and that is the whole idea behind having the open time for the community and alumni to walk through the building," said Dr. Bill Harbron,
Superintendent, West Muskingum Local School District.

Harbron said the new facility will house nearly 600 students and will replace Hopewell and Falls Elementary Schools.

"For the first time both Hopewell and Falls Twp. will come together under one campus for the K-12 experience and I think it’s what both communities can celebrate together, that they have wonderful facilities for education after the completion of this elementary school" said Harbron.

The new elementary will open in the fall for the 2016-17 school year for students in grades preschool through 4th grade.
