Last Minute Voting Procedures

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Board of Elections Office closed Monday to set up voting equipment across the county’s 22 polling locations.

The office will not be open for voting on Tuesday but will be accepting mail-in ballots through their drop box. Muskingum County Board of Elections Specialist Cheryl West shares some last minute pointers that will help to make Tuesday’s voting a smooth experience.

“You need to go to your voting location on November 4th,” West said. “As far as expectations, it’s a shorter ballot, so there shouldn’t be long lines but you still need to be prepared. Educate yourself as to what you’re voting for or who you’re voting for, so that you can, you know, do what you need to do and then go on with your day.”

West explained that mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Monday or placed in their drop box located at Market and Seventh Streets in Zanesville by the end of voting hours on Tuesday.

“They also need to bring a valid, unexpired, photo-ID. Which could be driver’s license, the interim license, passport, military ID’s, certain ones are acceptable. And then Ohio National Guard is another one that is acceptable. So any of those. They just have to be unexpired and valid,” West said.
