Lawrence S. Leis, 65, of Orchard Park, Zanesville passed away at 2:40 am Sunday April 29, 2012 at his residence after a two year battle with cancer.

Lawrence was born August 23, 1946 in Zanesville, the son of the late Anton and Marjorie (Balanski) Leis.

Lawrence was a project manager for Woodstone Energy, he was a member of the American Legion Post #0029 in Zanesville and he served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Louella (Thomas) Leis whom he married May 1, 2004; two sons Matthew (Stephanie) Leis and Alex (Jenny) Leis both of Iowa, One daughter Briana (Brian) Silverio of Iowa, a step son Donnie Thomas of Zanesville; one sister Barbara (David) Babcock; nine grandchildren Stefanee Leis, Brittany Silverio, Holly Stauffer, Maggie Peterson, Ayreona Leis, Amelia Leis, Valerie Leis, Anthony Leis and Jordan Lancaster.

Visitations will be 5 to 8 of Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, May 2, 2012, with Rev. Alice Baldwin officiating. Lawrence will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the US Marine Corps Color Guard and VFW Post #1058.
