Learning Adventures Head Outdoors

ZANESVILLE, OH – Dillon State Park is teaming up with the Muskingum County Library System to bring books beyond the library walls.
The Naturalist’s Learning Adventure series is back, and this month’s program is called Coyote Chronicling. The event takes place on Saturday, February 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dillon State Park Nature Center. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on activities and a special park after dark experience.
“This is an interesting way to engage with the natural world and in a natural setting with the expert. This will be a program with Park Naturalist, Michael Durst. We have a very wonderful collaboration set up and we have some open spots for people to attend the event this Saturday if you’ve been wanting to get outside or maybe explore the park after dark.” ” MCLS Marketing and Community Relations Director, Sean, Fennell said.
Guests will also explore the book ‘Coyote America’ by Dan Flores. Organizers say the goal is to spark curiosity and connect the community, all while stepping outside the traditional book discussion setting.
“We are going to be talking about ‘Coyote American’ by Dan Flores. That is the book that is going to be the center of the discussion; however, you don’t have to read the book before attending because the topic is going to be generally discussed.” Fennell said.
Teens ages 12 to 18 and adults are invited to attend, but registration is required. You can sign up through the Muskingum County Library System’s website.
