Learning to Live Healthy
Many areas make up healthy living, eating right, having a safe home and exercise to name a few.
At Zane State College the public as well as students took part in a community health expo that exposed visitors to the proper way to perform CPR. Exercise techniques and the dangers of smoking along with many others.
Interim Vice President for Student Services Larisa Harper said, “It’s important that we have a variety of folks from the college that teach healthy living and teach exercise and teach the way we can stay healthy in our lives, but also external community agencies that can provide resources to our students in the community.”
The free event is made possible through funds from the Ohio Commission on Minority Health and is held annually.
“We want our community to know that we are a community college and we support the events and resources we have in our community and we want to make sure the message gets out there that working together collaboratively we can make our community much more healthy. ”
Later this month the college will host a health fair tailored toward elementary students.
