Leavitt Signs With Kentucky

A former Sheridan General is officially taking his talents to SEC. Offensive tackle Tate Leavitt has signed with the Kentucky Wildcats.

Leavitt verbally committed to UK in mid-July, but made things final Wednesday by signing a National Letter of Intent. The four-star recruit passed on offers from big-time programs, including Michigan State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Louisville, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

Leavitt initially committed to play for the Ohio Bobcats upon graduating from Sheridan but ended up attending Hutchinson Community College in Kansas to improve his craft. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound tackle is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and is ranked 8th among junior college prospects.
