Library Launching New Website
In today’s apparent digital age, public libraries are fighting to stay relevant.
The Muskingum County Public Library System is joining the digital revolution and inventing new ways to accommodate customers. Assistant Director, Blair Tom, said the library is working hard to re-design its website to be an easier resource for users.
“Our primary goal is to make that a seamless, exceptional, experience just like we try to offer everyday in our six public library facilities, specifically we want to have the digital collection very accessible and a seamless experience,” Tom said.
The new and improved site will allow users to easily manage their existing accounts, and also include updated program and calendar information.
“It’s one of those opportunities that we have to be on top of everyday, because we as a society, want what we want, when we want it, the way we want it, and that’s another reason for the website to be updated,” Tom said. “It is a challenge, but we have a really strong team here, we’re continuing to attempt continuing education and access opportunities to find out how to grow that and make it an exceptional experience.”
Tom said the library hopes to launch its own digital book collection by the end of the year.
