Library Re-Opening in January
Construction is underway at the South Zanesville Library.
Assistant Director Blair Tom said the library has been tracking how consumers use the location as a resource. Among the changes are a new entrance, a redesigned children’s area and a drive-thru.
"We’ve seen an increase in people picking up and dropping off materials, using public computers and the area for free WiFi, so it’s less of a browsing location and more of a pick up and drop off location for people on the move with active lifestyles," said Tom.
The library is paying for the $176,000 project with its building, automation and operation funds.
"We think it’s going to be a great return on investment for Muskingum County residents," said Tom. "We think once they see the convenience and the way that we have paid attention to what they’ve told us by the way they use the facility, they’re really going to be pleased."
The branch is on schedule to re-open in January.
