Licking County Employee Killed

A Licking County Highway Department employee was killed Thursday afternoon when removing a tree.

According to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 2 p.m. emergency personnel were called to 2083 Welsh Hills Road in Granville. During removal of a tree, the tree fell on 45-year-old Troy Murphy of Newark.

Murphy was killed. An autopsy will take place Friday at the Licking County Coroner’s Office.
