Licking County Shooting Investigation

One man is dead following a shooting in Licking County early Sunday morning.

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 9151 Graceland Lane Road in St. Louisville on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival deputies located 27-year-old Samuel David Beskid II, of Cumberland, Ohio deceased inside the residence from an apparent gunshot wound.

Detectives said the homeowner, Donny Gayheart, was confronted inside the home by Beskid, who reportedly pointed a firearm and a flashlight at Gayheart and his girlfriend as they were lying in bed.

According to witnesses an altercation took place inside the home and Beskid was shot and killed.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Licking County Coroner’s Office. At this time the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
